Hops in Humboldt
The Sixth Annual Hops in Humboldt will take place Saturday, August 29, 2009 in Fortuna's Rohner Park.

In the heart of the redwoods, just off US 101, 18 miles South of Eureka and 253 miles North of San Francisco rests the Friendly City of Fortuna, the home of the biggest beer fest in Humboldt.

Hops in Humboldt features over 35 of the best breweries from across the country. For one price you can try unlimited samples of hundreds of different micro-brews, listen to 5 bands as they rock the stage throughout the day, cruise different art and craft vendors  selling everything from Humboldt clothes to local hand blown glassware and you get a cool commemorative glass to keep.

The event features over ten different food choices that are available to satisfy your appetite including homemade tamales, local grass fed tri-tip sandwiches, Chinese food and spicy sausages.

Looking for a little more fun ?
Hops in Humboldt features the Hops games. For  pocket change you can test your skill at a variety of games like the beer bottle ring toss, or stand the bottle where you win cool swag like beer beads, Hops in Humboldt T-Shirts, Hops Posters and cool beer mug hats.

Not in to games...
 then check out the The Hops Awards. While tasting the suds in the sun you can purchase tasters choice tokens to vote for your favorite brews. For a quarter, the breweries will holler and cheer when you give them your vote as they all compete for unique one of a kind beer awards made by a local artist.

Hops also features a 6000 sq foot tented beer area to keep you cool, free sun screen and bottled water keep you ready for the next foamy sample. If your not into shade then bring a blanket and set up in the sun on the grass while enjoying the live music and brews.

Please note that Hops in Humboldt is a pet free, 21+ event.

Thanks to Redwood Transit System you can "Catch a Ride" on the bus through Fortuna going to Eureka/Arcata for only $2.
Bear River Casino offers shuttle service in and around Fortuna to the local hotels.
